I’m going to share a bunch of easy recipes with foods you likely have in your kitchen these next few weeks! If you’re stocking up, I recommend getting some of what’s listed below on the image.
And here are some other tips 👇🏼
-
🥣 Canned low carb soups like broccoli cheddar and French onion
-
🥄 Boxed soups like Trader Joe’s creamy tomato or just broth to make an easy soup
-
🥔 Dried beans in a bag are definitely the best $$ saver, and canned beans are great too. Use these as a protein instead of a starch if you like!
-
🥜 Any kind of nut, seed, and nut/ seed butter
-
🧀 String cheese/ individual cheeses last longer than a big block of cheese – same with yogurts
-
🐮 Individual yogurts often last weeks
-
🥦 Get some frozen non-starchy veggies (broccoli, spinach are great)
-
🥕 Some fresh veggies last longer than others in the fridge as well – onions, carrots, cabbage, spaghetti squash
-
🥫 Canned crushed or diced tomatoes are great to stock up on – make an easy chili
-
🍎 Some fresh fruit also lasts longer than others – apples, oranges
Why choose proteins that last?
If you’re stocking up its best to get sources of protein that last just because you’ll have to make less trips to the store. Plus, they’re less likely go to spoil. So you’ll have more time to finish them, lest wasted money, etc. Protein intake is so important for overall health. They contain essential amino acids, are typically low in saturated fats, and have high amounts of vitamins and minerals. Protein is important for maintaining and building muscle, which is important for strength, supporting your skeletal system, and feeling good in your body.
Below are my personal favorite proteins that are high protein content and last longer before spoiling..
